Geographic Information System (GIS) are very useful tools that allow Biological Systems Consultants create visual illustrations, analyze complex data sets, and provide our clients with the most current data available for their projects. Whether it is using existing Digital Elevation Models or aerial imagery, or capturing our own datasets using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) equipped with specialized sensors, our GIS technicians have experience with a wide variety of projects including cumulative effects analysis, watershed assessments, cultural resources, volumetric measurements, topographic mapping, and aerial photo overlays.

Our GIS and visual software includes ArcGIS, Photoscan, AutoCAD, and Adobe Photoshop. Using these programs and technology we are able to create real-time visualization depictions of projects to help meet the goals of each project.

Biological Systems Consultants has provided Geographic Information System (GIS) services and related mapping, design, and implementation to many types of projects including mining, Phase I ESA, stream restoration, aggregate and coal stockpiles, construction, invasive species, bat habitat assessments, threatened and endangered species studies, botanical surveys, ornithological studies, environmental assessments, cumulative impact assessments, archaeological surveys, and many other types of projects. GIS technology assists our clients in accomplishing operations and maintenance tasks more quickly and efficiently. Our GIS technicians work closely with staff to develop a final product that is meets individual project needs within the project budget.

Biological Systems Consultants uses the latest GIS and EcoDrone (UAV) technology to collect and develop geographic data for your projects. Our GIS technicians are ESRI trained and also utilize technology such as GPS and field data collectors to enhance field data acquisition, which allows us to provide comprehensive service to meet all of your needs.
